Last week’s cartoon was about doctors, and medical advice, and how maybe we should ignore it sometimes. “Stand up for what you believe, while you still can.”
I imagine I’m not the only one who had a tough week, between Tax Day, and the shock of Prince passing away, and any number of other things that life throws at you.
Sometimes I like to escape to make-believe land, and create. I wrote about a bat painting yesterday on our Facebook page, and after considering why the artist made the choices he did, felt better afterwards.
I also chose this cartoon for today, about a gentleman who is finding it difficult to make creative choices. As much fun as tech toys are, and evolving ways of expression are exciting, creating something is a lot of hard work! It does involve making decisions, completing a project, and signing your name to it. Every step can be a stop, if you aren’t watchful.
Everyday Health, while explaining that being creative can help heal depression, says anyone can try it, not just “arty” types.
“In fact, some of the most difficult people to work with are professional artists, since they have the hardest time being non-judgmental about their art.”
Really? Did you have to go there? Good thing I have Dancing with the Stars to look forward to on Monday, to use dance therapy to feel better about my life again.
Your comments, thoughts, and even ideas for new cartoons, are welcome.
